Noise and vibration after 60 MPH
I have a new 2013 MKT with 2000 miles. Starting at 60 mph and up I get a cabin noise
and vibration in the steering wheel and seats. The dealer has re balanced the tires and tell
me it isn't the tires. But, they have no idea as to where the noise is originating from. Has
any other owners experienced this?
Your dealer says it isn't the tires but what does he say he thinks it is? Sounds like a tire problem to me. With only 2000 miles on the car, have him swap the tires with ones from another vehicle and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't, he needs to work harder to fix it for you. If it does go away, he will only be a little embarassed.
I am looking at a 2013 MKT for sale that supposedly was turned back in to Lincoln due to lemon law and same type of vibration. I've been trying to research this and found a post on line about a Ford Flex where the TPMS sensors were somehow coming 'loose' inside the wheel. Maybe worth a look?
Had my 2013 MKT with AWD and the 20" wheel option to 2 different dealers for vibration throughout entire vehicle. Your need to have the wheels checked to make sure they are true. Apparently these wheels bend very easily on the inboard side. I don't mean a visible bend, they need to be checked for being out of round. 2nd dealer raised the car on a lift with a driver. Turned off traction control, put car in drive and rotated wheels about 20-30 mph. I couldn't believe how out of round they were. Between the dealer and ford they replaced 2 out of their pocket. This is not a warranty item, but if your car is fairly new and you complain enough...
