Engine, Oil, Battery, and EPS light on

Asked by Megan Aug 14, 2021 at 09:47 PM about the 2013 Hyundai Elantra Limited FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

6 days ago my car stalled at a red light after pressing the brake. The battery,
oil, and engine light came on, there was no power, and the RPM needle had no
movement. Upon restarting, the car ran fine again for 4 days, then it died
again. This time it died after starting the car- the battery, oil, engine, and EPS
light came on and there was no RPM movement and no power. After restarting
the car, it was fine again. I took it to a mechanic who cannot replicate the
issue, but thinks something is shortening the alternator so it cannot charge the
battery. Both alternator and battery test fine, and there is no other diagnostic
codes coming up. Since this is happening randomly, they have to keep the car
to wait for it to happen again. Any ideas or experiences related to this? My car
has 135k miles on it and gets regular maintenance.

Don't those same lights come on when you turn the key from "off" to "run" as if you are trying to start the engine? Moving the key position to "start" should start the engine. If that is true, look for a new mechanic and a different cause of your stall problem.

Did you ever get it figured out? Mine is having that issue right now but it’s a Hyundai sonata
