2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7L ... Truck starts, doesn't run rough, but idle is not steady and stalls constantly. I have replaced: Crankshaft position sensor, Camshaft position sensor, TPS, IAC, Battery, Battery terminals, and O2 sensors. I had even tried a different PCM, but when that didn't solve anything, I went back to the original one. At this point, I don't know what I could be overlooking. Seems that I've tried everything that I have read in forums that have caused these issues. Please Help!!!

I can't hear any vacuum leaks now, but I did have a cracked line that I already replaced.

with engine running at idle, spray brake cleaner around intake manifold see if engine idle reacts (raises or lowers)

I replaced the cam sensor again, this time with one I pulled from a junkyard, and it runs like a dream. I went through 3 brand new sensors, all of different brands, and none of them would allow it to run properly, but a stock sensor from a junkyard made it purr. Hope that this will help someone else that runs into the same issue.

I have a 1992 Dodge Dakota that will randomly die whenever I come to a stop light/stop sign, and MIGHT only start back up again once I turn the key and step on the gas at the same time. I've had the fuel pump fixed, the ignition coil and crank sensor replaced as well. If anyone knows what else could cause this problem PLEASE let me know. 1 Answer
