04 ford freestar coolant leaking from aux heater hoses and back up sensor
Today we took the van out and you can smell coolant driping on the exhaust
and when van is idling with out rad cap on and no heat on you can see coolant
coming up to the top of the reservoir and gose all over the place temp gauge
dose not get hot at all and my back up sensor switch gose off after backing up
so if the coolant is bubbling out of the recovery bottle and you have a coolant leak, it can have a couple of meanings, one is a blown headgasket causing pressure buildup in the cooling system and shoving coolant out of open or weak spots in the system, i.e. Missing cap and the aux heater leak, in fact it might have even caused the aux heater leak, too much pressure. Temp gauge maybe malfunctioning as it should show temp increase with coolant loss, as far as the back up sensor it could be a selector switch adjustment, or a fault sensor. This is something that a pro should look at, call around to some independent shops, to,fond out of they like Freestars, who knows you might find a shop that really likes them.
