sometimes my car won't start , this time i squirted gas in filter intake and started right away

sometimes car won't start but this time a friend put a squirt of gasoline in the
filter intake and it started right away. What do I need to do so it can start
normally like it used to.

Are you getting any codes? Could be a bad sensor leading to faulty start.
