I got hit in the back of my car in a parking lot...no visible damage, but my back up reverse beeping sound does not work now...can this be reset?

Asked by Sep 18, 2016 at 07:57 PM about the 2013 Ford Edge SEL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While sitting in a parking lot, someone ran into me while they were backing
up.  It did not cause viable damage, but now my back up camera works but
does not make an alert when getting close to objects.  is there a way to rest
this?

The bumper covers are made to flex. I suspect you have damage under the bumper. Did you get their phone number or insurance info.? If not, your on your own to repair the damage. Your mechanic or auto body shop can remove the rear bumper cover to see what part was damaged not allowing the sound to work. I'm sure there isn't a thing as a "reset" for your issue

Knocked loose or off or broken the rear sensor, look for it and see if its replaceable.
