2013 Ford Fusion Disable Horn

Asked by May 05, 2016 at 09:12 PM about the 2013 Ford Fusion SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2013 Ford Fusion and the horn honks seemingly at random when I turn the wheel (both left and right).  Is there any way to temporarily disable the horn until I can bring it in to the shop to be fixed?

sounds like a short in the steering column somewhere. you should be able to unplug the horn itself at the wiring connector on the horn.

Do you happen to know where the horn is under the hood of the 2013 Ford Fusion, or where i could find documentation to find the horn myself? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am very inept at dealing with car problems :/

Have someone honk the horn while you have the hood up listening. Pretty sure you can find the horn.

Usually behind and below headlight area on the drivers side. Might be able to access from underneath without taking anything apart.
