2003 crown vics. fuel pump is not working.
2003 ford crown vic .police int. fuel pump is not coming on when i turn key to
on position.i checked fuses and the relay .all good .i took the fuel pump out of
the tank and hooked it strait to the battery w/test lead wires .the pump comes
on .i know it has to be a problem from between the relay and the pump but do
not know were to look now can any one help me?
Have checked to see if you have power at the leads going to the pump when the key is in the on position. If not you may have a broken wire..
It is possible that the fuel pump driver module is bad. This module controls the fuel pump. The FPDM is located in the trunk under the fuel cut off device. You car is of the "Panther" platform so do some reading at the link I will provide. Ignore that it is for Crown Victorias as they are essentially the same car. Read post #819213 carefully.....http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php? ubb=showflat&Number=819219
Also how do you know the fuel pump relay is bad? Try switching the relays around as I thing they have the same part number.
