Does the 2012 Toyota Corolla downshift automatically when going downhill?
I just bought a 2012 Toyota Corolla, and I'm thinking that automatic transmissions have
changed since my last car purchase! Do they automatically downshift when going
downhill? I notice this especially when I take my foot off the accelerator or brake. It also
seems like it doesn't coast the same way my previous Toyota did (when driving on a flat
road and then taking foot off the accelerator). Any thoughts?
Almost every car today will do that, another thing that I don't think is needed if you are any kind of driver at all. I have heard that some of the re-programmer units can help with the coasting feature but have never seen it done. Might try looking into some of them if you don't like it.
