F150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

hi so when we first bought the f150 it ran great and
had lots of power but the gmc company where we
got it took it back for two days because a rock got
stuck in the break pad on the wheel,  well that got
fixed but when we got it back it ran terrible and it
never got the power back that it had and when the
speedometer reaches above 100 the engine shuts
down until it goes below 100 and engages again,
we think they put a chip in the computer or
something but please help because we want the
power it had back.

I doubt they would go to the expense of reprogramming, have you went by an autozone and had the codes pulled, it is possible that something just failed in the engine management system. As far as the speed 100mph in a pickup is way dangerous and besides that is usually where the rev limiter grabs most vehicles anyway.
