What causes raw fuel getting into the exhaust?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Strong fuel odor while running, stronger while accelerating. Plugs,wires and
injectors are new. 3.3l v6

From the exhaust or engine bay? Might be a fuel leak.

Is the check engine light flashing? If so, the engine is misfiring. Scan the computer for trouble codes to find out which cylinder is misfiring and go from there. Most auto parts stores will scan the computer for free. HTH. -Jim
