5 sp manual transmission stuck in gear

Asked by Dec 15, 2013 at 03:27 PM about the 2003 Dodge Stratus R/T Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The s speed manual transmission stuck in reverse. I think my niece downshifted into reverse while exiting the frwy. Nevertheless, the 2003 dodge stratus v-6 3.0 will not come out of gear. The linkage to the transmission was broken so I replaced a few parts. The question is: Could somebody tell me exactly how the Spindle Fork slides in to transmission Fork?

have you checked your shifter cables? if one is broke it will refuse to go one direction

try to manually change gears right at the linkage on the transmission. play with them get them to another position start your car see if you remain in the same gear if so definitely not your cables
