My 2005 Honda Odyssey Malfunction Indicator Lamp has been on for 3 days now.

Asked by May 05, 2014 at 01:23 PM about the 2005 Honda Odyssey EX-L w/ Nav and DVD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Honda odyssey (2005) has had the Malfunction Indicator light on for about 3 days
now.  It jerks when I accelerate.  I had the same problem last year. When I took it to the
shop, I was told I had some tank leaking. After they fixed it, my vehicle ran fine until now.
The manual says it could be my a missing or loose gas fill cap, not so for me, Ihave
checked. Does anyone know about this problem?

Since the light is on, you need to scan for the codes, we can help once you have those. Any local auto parts store will do this for you. Post the 4 digit codes back here.

I would go buy a OBD 2 canner if your time is worth more than minimum wage. If I were a betting man I would say that your EGR port in the air intake manifold is blocked, TSB on this. I had this battle for 4 years until a drilled out the damm thing due to Honda mis-engineering this.
