why do I have no heat

A cap came off coolant spliiled on engine, now i
have no heat in car. Why?

Because you need to have a filled system with coolant to have heat. The cap should also be on to maintain pressure. You need to find out why the cap came off, possibly due to overheating. Check your/ system as to why it overheated. Could be a stuck thermostat, to low coolant, head gasket, fan not working, blockages, et
