I have a 2006 pilot I bought used I noticed I was burning transmission fluid checked under the hood to find I was missing the tranny dip stick and there was tranny fluid all over I got a new one
I still see tranny fluid under the tranny but
the levals haven't gone down how long will
it take before I stop seeing it if there's no
leak and can I use any tipe of stop leak
additives with my Honda trans fluid
It might be residual fluid from not having the dipstick in. Keep checking the level to see if it goes down. Clean up the area with a rag and or you can buy some engine cleaner to clean just that area. Remember to check the fluid level with the van warm, in park, running, on a level surface. If it is leaking, I don't recommend an additive, get the seal or gasket replaced on the transmission itself if that is where it is leaking.
Tom would you happen to kno how much the seal or gasket should run me I live in Toronto Ontario
One more question my check engine light keeps coming on when the truck sits idling for more than 10 minutes but it goes back off when I let it sit for bit with the engine off and it only happens when it idles for long periods last time it was in the shop they told me I was miss firing but a tune up would fix it could this have something to do with it any ideas
