2007 Honda Pilot Navigation System turns off mid-trip and goes back to home screen, radio occasionally turns off as well.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We recently purchased an update for our 2007 Honda Pilot navigation system.  About a month after installing the new software, the navigation system started turning off in the middle of a long trip (20-30 minutes).  Once or twice, the radio also turned off, but usually it is just the navigation system.  The navigation system flickers off and goes back to the home screen.  I checked all of the fuses and found no obviously blown fuses, though now I am wondering whether I should replace to be sure.  I can't replicate the problem on short trips.  Thank you for any troubleshooting ideas!

My first thought is a loose ground wire. If/when it loses power that's what it will do, forget the program you put in for directions and go back 'home" It reminds me of a horrible story of an guy in Iran that programmed coordinates in to a GPS to call for an air-strike on the enemy, but the batteries went dead and he put in new ones and the GPS directed the air strike right on his position. Tragedy at it's worst and nothing to do with cars, sorry 'bout that
