2012 Honda Pilot alarm randomly goes off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello,

The alarm in my 2012 Honda Pilot just started going off randomly while it is
parked.  I noticed a few days ago that once in a while the car would lock itself
after I had pushed the unlock button on the key fob and was walking toward
the car or standing outside of it.  Today when I push the lock button on the key
fob the car locks on the first push, then on the second push it no  longer
sounds the horn.  But the red light will begin flashing on the dash indicating
that the alarm is engaged.  After about 5 minutes the alarm will just start
honking the horn.  This is a factory alarm, no upgrades or anything have been
done and I purchased it new.  Any ideas?  thanks :)

Body control module is defective or possibly a corroded connector somewhere in the circuit. You don't mention date of service or miles, but definitely worth having a stern conversation with your dealer about covering this.

Miles are 58K and it's due for an oil change but not late, and Thanks I definitely will :)
