I'm new to the world of the Focus and car customization. Curious about engine swapping?

Asked by Apr 10, 2016 at 05:55 PM about the 2004 Ford Focus ZX3

Question type: Car Customization

I'm purchasing my manager's 2004 Ford Focus ZX3 Hatchback soon and I'm wanting to turn it into a unique, customized project. I don't know much about it yet except that it is an automatic, 2.0L 4 cylinder. One of the things I'm planning on doing is an engine swap. What exactly do I have to have in order to do an engine swap besides the motor itself? What kind of engine can I actually put in this car and get a lot of power? Thanks!
