do I need a neutral saftey switch?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car often acts up when I try to crank it. I
turn key and I regesters its in reverse and
actually its in park. Of course it won't crank
in reverse. Does anyone know what it could
be?

The neutral safety switch may need to be adjusted.
