What type of oil?
What type of oil is used in the 2004 Dodge viper? The
manual says 10w30 and the cap says 0w40 called the
dealership they said they would put 10w30 but then I bear
0w40 is what's recommended by viper engineers my... So I
go with the 10w 30 and now I have really noisy lifters would
I harm anything by going with 0w40?
No harm to use the 0-40 weight oil. Sounds like that is recommended anyway.
Main thing is changing the oil & filter before it gets dirty.
Mobil 1 Synthetic
Like @rowefast said, just consider your kind of weather on your area. If too hot = go a bit more viscous, too cold = a bit more lighter, but always ALWAYS use synthetic.
All dodge v8 and v10 have to run synthetic oil. They recommend red line synthetic but you can use store brand synthetic with close or to the same viscosity index. Seen brand new 5.7, 6.1 and 6.4 with lifters tapping because of standard oil.
