Would a '03 motor head work on an '04 motor? Car spit a
spark plug and stripped the threads in my motor and
looking for the cheaper but safer end of the fix.

Go to your local parts store and get a plug rethread kit, if you follow the directions properly they work just fine, I have never had one blow out, getting it clean is the key here.
