2004 Durango AWD wont move in any gear?

Asked by Sep 23, 2013 at 05:39 PM about the 2004 Dodge Durango ST

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving and there was bang noise and then no power to the wheels. It wont move in any gear, just revs up. I checked the fluid it was full. but transfer case fluid is very dark. Would this be the transfer case or tranny?

Does your speedo read any speed when you rev it in gear? If not then it is in the tranny, if it does then it is the transfer case.
