Is it really necessary that I replace all 4 tires at once if only one is bad on my 2004 Dodge Durango?

Definatly NOT 4!!! If the undamaged tire is not new or close to new, you have to replace it.
I forgot to add that my truck is an AWD and two different tire stores have told me that I need to replace all four even if only one is bad.
I also have a AWD and if it was me I would try to get used tire that is the same as the rest of them with similar wear, those tires are expensive. check how much is left of the thread on your tire´s and then try ebay or a junk yard just get the same tires you are running with similar wear and you are ok.
