3 different shops could not find out the exact problem. EGR bar was replaced
but did not fix the problem.
P0135 FORD - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1.... Possible causes - Faulty Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 1 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit fuse - Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit open shorted to ground - Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit poor electrical connection - Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)... The code means that there is a problem with the heater element circuit of the heated oxygen sensor. The control module monitors how long it take the sensor to warm up and start sending an adequate signal. The code is triggered when the sensor is taking too long to warm up. Water getting inside the heated oxygen sensor connector can caused the heated oxygen sensor fuse to blow. Before replacing the sensor, check for the condition of the heated oxygen sensor fuse and connectors. If the sensor and connector are OK, replacing the O2 Sensor 1 usually takes care of the problem........P0403 FORD - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control Circuit... Possible causes - Faulty EGR volume control solenoid valve - EGR volume control solenoid valve harness is open or shorted - EGR volume control solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection - EGR temperature sensor and circuit......P0443 FORD - EVAP Purge Control Circuit.... Possible causes - Faulty Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Purge Solenoid Control - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Purge Solenoid Control harness is open or shorted - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Purge Solenoid Control circuit poor electrical connection....
I was told it cant be all these parts to be bad. something is triggering to read all these bad codes. or it would be a mountain of $ to resolve all of them. Is that possible?
Ok, My opinion on this is the po443 code, you need a new Purge Valve for this code. The po403 you need a new EGR Volume Control Solenoid Valve. This may take care of the po135 code. There are things to check on the po135 code as stated above. So what is the EGR bar? Is there a round EGR Valve with a tube that screws into it? Or is it the bigger unit with the Control Solenoid on it?
Ok got it. It's the EGR valve that got replaced 3 days ago. Could it be bad from manufacturer or something else not letting it work properly? BTW. thanks a bunch! for your help and feedback.. :)

I'm sure there are but car is in the shop...4th one btw this time with Ford but I'm afraid it will be an arm and a leg before they can tell me if one part is triggering the others to read bad.
They like replacing parts. It is possible they will do at least one O2 sensor instead of messing with the #1 O2
So is that the one they replaced? Cause thats the one I was thinking of that needed replacing.
My regular mechanic replaced the EGR valve but that did not fix the idle shake almost to stall problem nor the codes. Ford has not been able to tell me what else could be. they said i will have an answer tomorrow. I will keep you posted.

Hello, Ford finally found the problem for my truck. It's the battery junction box. The bad news is they obsoleted this part and i would have to find it at a junk yard. Any clue where else i can find one for my 2004 explorer?
What is the battery junction box? Is that the fuse box located under the hood of the vehicle? If so, replacement aftermarket boxes are available, search the net.
Be careful if you are getting a purge valve error. On newer Ford vehicles (I do not know if the 2004 is so equipped). While operating the vehicle will attempt to pull a small vacuum on the fuel tank to make sure no gas fumes are escaping into the air. If the purge sequence continues to pull the vacuum on tank not leaking, it will literally implode the gas tank from the outside air pressure. Try sucking on an empty soda can and see just how easy it is.
Yes i think its the fuse box under the hood. from the images i found it's right next to the battery.
Thank you OJ. I will check if that code keeps showing up after I take care of the fuse box issue. Ford assured me that is what is throwing off all the other bad codes but we will see if that is the case.
Hear is a case that is more in-depth than the information given. It can be hard sometimes sitting behind this screen...
@Fleur1024 did you had any battery corrosion on the positive or negative pole? Do you think you never need it to replace any sensor just the fuse Box?
