There are two clips that hold the front edge in that must be disengaged. PROBLEM - as I was pulling down on the front edges of the console two plastic welds broke, on the console assembly, before the clips disengaged. I had to use large needle nose pliers to grip the "black" plastic housing and pull it straight down to disengage the clips. There were other plastic welds broken but they can repaired with epoxy and shouldn't affect the functioning of the unit once installed. After the front of the unit is loose, it's a bit easier to disengage the front of the unit and remove it, The connectors are a bit of a pain if you don't have three hands. I'm still trying to find a pick-off point for switched battery power in the console area. if you find it, please let me know where.
