Hyundai santa fe 2012

Asked by May 11, 2016 at 06:01 AM about the 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I pressing the START button to run the car,
sometimes the ignition switch doesn't return to ON
after  START .The starter continue to operate and
only pressing again the START button stops it.Can
someone help me to find this problem?

Sounds like the start switch needs replacing. If there is a solenoid in the circuit, that would need to be checked also.

Thanks alot for your answer.I have also noticed that this problem happens only when I am using the spare key which I have copied latly.Could the spare key which is not an orignal one can cause this problem?How can I be sure that the spare key is the real problem or the ignition switch?

I am not up on the chips that are in the keys now a days, but if the original key does not cause any problem, then suspect the new made key.
