ford explorer XLT 2012, How do you open the doors if the vehicle battery is dead?

Use the key that is part of the fob to open the drivers door. Should be a lock near the handle.

thanks Tom, Have tried both key on it, but it's of no use... is there a way to open the hood ?

If the key doesn't work, then there is a problem with the lock. Should be the same key which starts the car. Don't know if pop a lock will work unless the code is bypassed.
