Car won't start

Asked by Stratus_696 Jan 21, 2017 at 04:12 AM about the 2012 Nissan Sentra 2.0 SR

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey, so my car will not start. Last year a
similar thing happened around winter. My
car would not turn over. I had AAA come out
and it so happened that my battery was too
low to start the engine. Now it's happened
again, but this time I'm getting a clicking
noise when I turn the key. I think I may have
burned out the starter. This car is very new.
I've only had it for a little under 2 years. Only
32,000 miles. I don't know anything about
cars please help.

The clicking sound is an indication of a low battery. On brand new cars they do not put in the best battery so it is possible that you need a new battery. Also have the charging system checked, this is what keeps the battery charged.

I have the same car! It had 19,000 miles when I bought it from Nissan Chapman. I've put about 20,000 miles on if since 2014. The battery dies if I don't drive it for a week or more, sometimes less. Nissan can't seem to find the problem. Ive taken my car to them on numerous occasions. It first happened in the winter. It also happens in the summer. The lights come on & makes a cracking sound. I just had to replace a muffler with a hole in it, now I know what the funny smell in my car was. Its funny, they didn't know the muffler had a hole, until my warranty expired. Does anyone have any suggestions about why the batter keeps dying? They checked the battery & said everythings fine. Thank you
