2002 Chevy venture theft deterrent module
I lost my key for my 02 Chevy venture the
key was too expensive so I just took the
steering column out of another venture at
the junk yard and used that cylinder and key.
We programmed the new key to the theft
deterrent module and it worked. But only for
about a month than one day the battery died
and the module forgot the key. Now it will
not relearn the key!!! Ugh!!! I called the
dealership and they said I would need a new
tdm can I get that at pull apart?
Yes ,but it will have to match the numbers on the old one.
UGH!!! OK I got the new theft deterrent module and the key still would not program to the vehicle. In fact now my odometer is going haywire and so is my radio(FLICKERING AND SUCH) we've come to the conclusion that it is most definitely the bcm, whereas I think it may have been flooded during a recent storm, which marked the begining of this issue. If I get a new bcm from the junk yard do I need to flash or program it in order to utilize it or will it automatically work. If I have to program it is there a cheap way to do so?
Of course losing the key initially was it but I hit a big puddle two days before the van forgot the new key and it shut down moments later and the same flickering happened right before it shut down. However it charged back up that day
I'm desperate for a solution!!!
Also before I had lost the key a similar situation had happened beforehand flickering and such during a rain storm and a sudden shut down of vehicle after hitting a large puddle, the wireharness on the passenger side was all severed and corroded , we fixed that, and everything was okay, until the next time i hit a large puddle than the same thing happened.
