Luggage/Roof Rack for Dodge Magnum

Thisa spring we bought this Magnum and love it. It can replace our "Family Van" but I need a luggage/roof rack. Between Skis, kayaks, car top carrier and trips to Home Depot, its a must. I'm looking for something I can attach and leave on. All the aftermarket stuff I've seen, i.e. JC Whitney would work but you'ld never want to leave them on. Was there an OEM luggage rack for this wagon? Can it be added as as aftermarket item?

Sorry for the late answer! The stock 2006 Magnum R/T luggage rack will fit your car as far as I know. The roof contour is identical. It should be a straightforward bolt-on, you will need to remove the headliner. Make some large cardboard templates of the mounting holes so you can locate the proper area from inside. Good luck!
you do know that you will have to drill through the roof to do this,use a good rubber water resisentent sealent.
Thanks, guys. I put a sunroof in a car as a teenager, so yes I learned about rubber sealents. Time to start looking for a luggage rack.
Just take your time. The roof is aluminum and is very flexible and warps easily. On the other hand, it's easy to straighten if you ding it. There is probably a stiffener frame that goes under the roof, I don't have access to the parts catalog to confirm that but based on the flimsy stock roof I'm guessing that the roof rack has an internal component as well. Let us know how it works out.
