what would cause oil to leak out in very heavy amount onto my garage floor? 2012 Hyundai Sonata never has leaked any oil before
2012 Hyundai Sonata, never leaked oil before. Went to drive car and heavy oil leaked out onto garage floor. Why would a massive oil leak occur
Make sure he tightened the drain screw tight .... and of course ,, make sure you have oil in the engine.
Right, also check the oil filter area. Did you just have an oil change?
I have the same issue, originally i blamed jiffy lube and they were not conclusive with an answer, they just did the customer service thing and re did the oil change. Weeks later I'm pouring oil out once again... my mechanic said to bring is to Hyundai that the leak is not related to oil pan plug or filter he said to have them check into something behind the heat shield above the drain plug... so more to follow.... the general area is passenger side close to the firewall.
Having the same issue with my 2012 Sonata. What ended up being the problem? Expensive fix or covered under warranty?
Oil pan not tight
What side of oil pan is plug so I'm letting up the opposite side for best drain
Rear main seal went bad on my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Caused large amounts of oil to leak. $600+ for repair.
