i have a 2005 dodge durango with the 4.7 engine and my wife got gas about two weeks ago and before she was able to get out of the gas station the car started to idle rough and hesitate to go and shaking, so far i have check the fuel pressure it was good and check a sample of the fuel and that looked good and change the spake plugs and check after that for spark and all good and i also have a check engine light on with error code P0300 multi miss fire and sounds like its hissing like its got a hole some where has any one had this issue before and how did you correct it
Sounds like the biggest thing is a vacuum leak. Need to find that vacuum leak. Here is what the po300 is... P0300 DODGE - Cylinder Misfire Fault Detected Random Cylinders...Possible causes; Faulty spark plug (s), Faulty ignition coil (s), Clogged or faulty fuel injector (s), Intake air leak, Fuel injectors harness is open or shorted, Fuel Injectors circuit poor electrical connection, Ignition coils harness is open or shorted, Ignition coils circuit poor electrical connection, Insufficient cylinders compression, Incorrect fuel pressure...The P0300 code means that a cylinder(s) is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks, intake gaskets are common caused of multi-cylinder misfiring. If no leak are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem.
what the best way to find a vacuum leak
By spraying carburetor cleaner along the intake manifold gasket, and anywhere there is vacuum. You would notice a difference in the rpm of the engine as the vacuum where a leak is will suck in the carb cleaner and burn up in the cylinders, like adding more fuel to the cylinders.
