I have a 2001 Volkswagen jetta gls 1.8t! Car was sitting for a few months! Battery was dead and wouldn't hold a charge! I replaced the battery and it started up! Now the car won't turn over at all!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I went to start the car it
wanted to turn over but bogged out 2
times the 3rd try it wouldn't turn
over! All dash lights work and fan
turns on so there is power from the
battery! I believe something failed or
shorted out I don't know what! Any
advice would really help!

To start a car takes much more power than it takes to run a fan. I would first remove your battery and have it checked at an auto parts store. They usually have a battery tester.
