alternator both working
Have it read for codes, even if the check engine light is NOT on the computer will have stored information and codes. Discount auto stores will read codes for no fee. write them down. How is the IGNITION SPARK?
spark and air. most issues for starting are often to do with poor vacuum with these engines. the 1.8 engines have been known to get finicky in there older ages. check for signs of leaks especially at the 4 point coolant flange located at the end of the engine block. Often this flange breaks and the temp sensor goes bad which often will cause a starting issue. so if you been smelling weird smells under the hood or low antifreeze levels this is likely the cause.
