volkswagen jetta 2002 1.8t wont start after it run out of gas
Can someone help me! I have a friend with a volkswagen jetta 2002 1.8t her car was find
until she run it out of gas one day. Next day she put gas on her car and it didn't start. The
car tries to start but then it turn off. Her mechanic says is the dash cluster but they can't
fix or have not been able to fix it.
She is willing to give to me for $300, is it worth it to buy it???
Key and cluster nay gave to be coded. Find an independent VW shop that has vagcom diagnostic equipment.
this sounds like the fuel filter most likely is cloged. The reason you don't run a car out of gas is because if you have crap in the tank and run it dry it will msot likely suck that all into the filter and clog it. So check for fuel pump noise and replace the fuel filter and it should fix the issue. and the above answer would be a good place to start to diagnose the dash.
