Car won't turn over

Asked by Josh Dec 28, 2016 at 05:09 PM about the 2006 Dodge Stratus SXT Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Drove to gas station. Put in a little bit of gas.
Drove one mile home, heard
ticking/clacking noise,  then car dies
abruptly while im looking under the hood.
The fuel pump is coming on, and there's
white milky stuff in my air lines and near my
filter. Also, just on the bottom of my dip
stick. My strut has been bad for a while.
Would the beating And banging hurt the fuel
pump. I do live in Southwest Virginia.  It was
raining alot that day. I got Shell branded gas
though.  It did happen after I put gas in but I
usually keep it quite full, other than a week or
two prior. This happened on Christmas day
unfortunately right before we had to travel.
Any help is appreiciated.

Check engine oil level. You mentioned it happened after you put gas in it, did you overfill the tank, if you did, it could be the EVAP system. Milky stuff on air lines?
