I replaced the battery in my 2006 Dodge Stratus. Why is the check battery light still on?

Maybe your alternator isn't charging your battery properly. What is the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine on? Should be around 14 volts.

Going to have it checked tomorrow. I have no way of checking the voltage myself. Thanks for the "heads up".
