shifting issue in 2006 dodge stratus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Dodge Stratus sxt with only 117,000 miles. The car was well
maintained. Early in the morning I would wake up and go start my car. I
would give it 5-8 minutes to warm up. I then put it in reverse and then when I
would put it into drive, it didnt move and the rpms would go down. I would
then shift through gears 2-3 times and then after doing that, once i put it into
drive it would move and I wouldnt have any problems for the rest of the day.
Any ideas??
