Was the battery disconnected before this began?

No, the battery was not disconnected before this began....the car was working fine, when I went to put on the a/c the screen was black and I could not do or use any function from the dashboard panel. Thank you for your reply...... Much appreciated......

The reason I asked as it sounds like the BCM has lost all of its factory presets, without those the BCM doesn't know any of the accessories you have, you might want to try to see if you can get the codes, it is possible that there could be a communications failure between the computers, if you can't get the codes to transmit or it shows all good then a trip to the dealer would be the only way to get the presets reinstalled.

You get them from the OBD2 port using a scan tool.

Can your dashboard screen crack in extremely cold weather

In sub zero it can if an instant warm air blast hits it. Seats are also known to split during sub zero.
