My 06 dodge durango 5.7 hemi shows the check engine symbol on the dash as well as the symbol for electronic throttle control code, is there a method for me to clear the electronic throttle control code as this causes the car to run badly and the manual recommends it not be driven like this.

The best way to clear the code is fix the throttle control sensor so the light isn't on. Clearing just the code won't help you as it will turn back on and your back to square one.

what is the code?

You may want to have someone see if there is carbon build up around throttle plate in the throttle body. causes plate to stick closed.

Get the code an take it from there.
