Why is my 2006 Dodge durango keeps on reading error code p0016 and hesitating

Asked by Aug 23, 2015 at 02:43 PM about the 2006 Dodge Durango Limited 4WD

Question type: General

My 2006 Dodge Durango Limited 5.7 Liter : This error code p0016 will not go away after all new parts were installed. New Converters, o2 Sensor, Cam Sensor,  Position Sensor, Map Sensor, Map Sensor, Coil Packs and a New Battery. All of these parts were installed on the vehicle. The check engine light went out but came back on and this code p0016 keeps coming back up. The truck runs fine. The problem is that the vehicle keeps on hesitating likes it's want to stall, I am tired of the guessing games from these mechanic's just trying to make money and still haven't found the problem. The truck has not jumped time. The motor runs like a sewing machine. Sounds great and runs great with the hemi. The hemi is not up to 100%. I just need to know what is causing the engine to hesitate like it wants to stall and why is this code p0016 continue to show up. I am going to change the plugs in the my 2006 dodge Durango limited. I just need know if anyone had this problem before and what was the outcome of getting the problem fixed. plus in know there is not a fuel filter on the vehicle. Can someone help me to solve this problem. I love this truck but I want to get the horses up and back running 100%.

This trouble code is for the crankshaft/camshaft correlation. It other words the crankshaft and camshaft are not in the proper positions in relation to each other. Most likely cause is a stretched (worn out) timing chain. HTH. - Jim
