Loss of power and bad gas mileage
My 2006 Caravan has roughly 120000 miles on the engine, and has started having real
issues with driveability and gas mileage. The van starts up normal, and very slow
acceleration is fine. If you attempt to go at higher speeds, acceleration is extremely
slow, sometimes not even allowing the transmission to shift into higher gear. Doesn't
feel like there are any misfires. If parked, the engine will only go up to 3000-3500 rpm,
then will top out and drop a little and alternate back and forth. I have changed the
plugs, wires, EGR, Crankshaft Position Sensor, both O2 sensors, checked ignition
coil, and flushed/changed the transmission filter, all to no avail. Anyone have any
ideas what can be going on?
One suggestion, and that,s if you have not done it,have you changed the fuel filter lately,it sound,s like it may be starving for fuel,if not filter ,clean the throttle assembly may help.
Isn't the filter located on the fuel pump? Is there a fuel pressure testing port?
There is a inline filter, ans a sock filter at the pump, and you can test the fuel pressure at the fuel rail, there is a fitting for this there.
So I need to drop the gas tank regardless. Cannot find the fuel pressure port on the fuel rail. Do you know where that is located?
Im having the same problem was wondering if you have found the problem
