Have you tried manually unlocking the door both inside and outside using the key? If that doesn't work then if you know how to use it a "slimjim" can catch the lock pawl on the latch assembly and unlock it. The most common problem is the little plastic rod retainers break up then the rods fall out or are so loose that they can't work, the door panel will have to come off to gain access to the internal latch and rod assemblies. Must have just been hung up, because it has worked fine since then. Got it to unlock with the remote after several tries.

Then go to the parts store and buy some BP Blaster penetrating spray lube and spray the latch assemblies down in the catch and even remove one of the upper mounting screws and spray some in there and there work the latches and locks a few times.
