Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Am trying to program a new oem smart key for a 2012 elantra Limited. I'm
supposed to put the remote in the programming slot but can't find it in the
console. Does anyone know where it is. This is the Elantra which doesn't have
a key ignition but only the push button start.

The dealers need to put it in the slot as well. Trying to find the slot. Anyone know where it's located on a 2012 Elantra Limited with push button start?

Looked at the manual it doesn't list it? Looked on the left of the steering wheel it's not there? Any other suggestions?

I don't know about the elantra but the sonatas has it in the console toward the back on top. A small flap that accepts the whole fob. I don't know about programming it. Call the dealer.

Hyundai beware buyer: Electrical system completely shut down after a few months. Key fob (good battery) won't open doors, turn on the lights or start car. No place to put the ordinary key somewhere to get the car to start. Made phone calls to dealership service center and national consumer help to find out as much. Frustrating. Must be towed.
