Box hanging from Ford Escape

Asked by TDOG9103 Jun 17, 2021 at 12:53 PM about the 2012 Ford Escape Limited AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have this black box hanging from the bottom of
my 2012 Ford Escape Limited.  Does anyone know
what this is? How important is it, and how do I
reattach it.

Probably part of the EVAP system. If you do not know how to support it then wire it up temporarily and take the car straight to a mechanic.

looks like the plastic box cracked. You will have to replace it. Find one in a salvage yard or your mechanic can.
