2012 Chevy Cruze: Stabilitrak - Check Service Traction Control

Asked by Mary Jun 03, 2018 at 07:13 PM about the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze 2LT Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

For the past week, my 2012 Cruze LT 60K miles, has been flashing
Stabilitrak , Check Service Traction Control, and the radio cuts out.

Yesterday, the same problem happened, along with the car stalling out as I
was pulling out of a parking spot.

I have read a bit about it and there may be a problem with a negative battery
cable or possibly a troublesome PSV and/or faulty sensors.

Hi Mary The fact that your radio is also a symptom tells me it's probably the negative battery cable. I would get that checked out first.

My check engine light was blinking with service stability. It has 75k and I dont know if the light blinking cpuld be caused by a loose battery cable?(thats a ? Btw). When backing out of my garage seems like I need to accelerate to much to get the car to back out, however in drive it seems fine

I just took mine into the dealer as this was happening more and more. There is a sensor that is connected to the electric circuit with the radio and stablitrak. My sensor had gone bad. Replaced the sensor and hasn’t happened since.

Sorry, it was all covered under warranty so I don’t recall how expensive it may be. They also replaced the negative battery cable. It’s not happened since.

I went through this problem, struggling with the STABALI TRACK and the car shutting off for about 2 -3 years!!! I finally decided to tell the maintenance person that I looked at this comment and I want them to check the wires going to the battery because it might be "the negative battery cable" OR something wrong with the sensor. and guess what? for $149 compared to the thousands I spent trying to diagnose and fix this problem... they found that this was, in fact, the PROBLEM and it's FIXED NOW! THANK YOU!!!

My brother is currently going through this issue. We have replaced the ignition relay, ignition coils, and negative battery cable. What sensor replacement fixed your issue?

I'm having this issue. Does anyone else's car sound different while they're driving when the stabilitrak is messed up?

2 fuses fixed my problem! Been to dealerships after dealerships.. no help they say nothing is wrong.. I started driving my car after letting it sit because I was so frustrated with it. Then everything started flashing headlights radio different messages all over my dashboard.. radio fuse and battery fuse replaced for a total of $6.50 and it hasn’t done it since!! If it happens again I will update here..
