Cylinder arrangement - spark plug lcation for 2.8 2000 A6?
Hi guys, What is this the cylinder arrangement for the 2000 2.8 Audi A6
(In the US, Automatic, 4door sedan, Quattro)
More specifically, i have a misfire on cylinder 3 and i'm trying to find/check the spark
plug. (spark plug spacing for this engine also appreciated along with anything else you
think i may find useful)
okay....here's your cartoon~
Thank's Judge! After stripping everything down i actually saw they marked the plug leads, how nice of them! haha Any idea on the spark plug gaps(spacing)?
.025-.028 according to the Audi forum~...to me that seems a little on the low- voltage side...but I am not an automaker~
Audi is FANCY~ the MINI cooper I drive is also FANCY-pants and there's no where to take it for service in Clearlake...leaks out coolant after busting into boulders on 6th street (unpaved)~ stuck drivin' the Toyota truck...not sexy...not sexy atall~
Much agreed, I took out my oil pan on some not so well paved roads. But once i get the misfire fixed shell be running well again!
.035 is what WE use for 40,000 volt coils~ audi is a kraut of a different jibe~ the forum says the 20,000 volt .028 we used in the old days before solid state...really don't know what the hell is going on here~!
nice to know how to weld...my 66 Chevy 400 busted a rod and punched thru the oil pan....welded 'er up and still had replacement engine troubles....oh well you take your chances with a "crate" rebuild...the crank was BENT on this rebuild....like I'm gonna change out the engine again on this 500 dollar truck?...no way...just drive the thing...did not have power steering anyways...sold it for 500....old Chevy's never die just get sold cheap to the next guy~
there are problems with putting a 400 impala engine into a 235 six cylinder spot...the gas tank will be too small....you WILL need power steering~...still with a new "outdoor" paintjob (where the police were busy crackin' down on some neighborhood dice game)...rather than stoppin' a guy from spraying harmful chemicals into the air...such is downtown Oakland, where this truck was painted...did the top white...it was cute~ drove it back to Wisconsin and back~ transmission had the "super-low" for a farmer pulling a plow through the field at PLOW speed~our fellow califcarson (one of the gurus) shared that with me...also the angle to the footwell is so that a farmer can "bucket wash" the area where his boots may have picked up some mud~
Thanks for the input! Have an A6 wuth 4 of the 6 cylandars misfiring! Also driving the Toyota! Thank goodness we still have it. Going for Audi plugs
