would unhooking the alarm for a 2001 Solara disable the engine?
Are we talking about the Factory alarm or aftermarket?
If its factory, bring it to a dealer to have it disabled...
I'm not sure if it's the factory alarm this is my mother's car and she's has a bit of dementia. she thought she locked her keys in the trunk called a locksmith who popped the trunk only and then disabled the alarm. now the engine won't turn over and I'm wondering if it's because the alarm was disabled and we can't find the original keys...just trying to avoid another call to either Triple A or another mechanic
If it's factory equipment and he got the keys then why did he disable the alarm? The purpose of the alarm is to prevent your car from being stolen if someone doesn't have the proper authorization. I didn't think it could be disabled and still have the car start
