Emergency fuel cut off

Asked by Allison Jul 13, 2019 at 09:26 PM about the 2006 Buick Rendezvous CXL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Where is the fuel cutoff switch? We switch fuel
pump and fuel pump won't kick on. Any ideas. Car
turns over just doesn't start. Checked relays, and
fuses already.

There is no fuel cutoff switch on GMs the PCM sends voltage to the fuel pump, as long as relays/fuses are good. Only fords have a physical cutoff (inertia) switch.

I find it hard to grasp that anyone would just assume that the fuel pump is out when they don't check out the fuel relay or PCM first. Always check out the fuse box when dealing with an electrical component. If you turn key on and you don't hear the pump hmm sound, then you may have pump issues
