My radiator is really loud and now my car is telling me to check my coolant

Asked by Talat Feb 28, 2016 at 07:09 AM about the 2008 Volkswagen Golf GTI 2.0T 4-Door FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Normally my radiator fan operates quietly when I park. For the past two or
three weeks it has been running really loud. It runs for about a 1-2 minutes and
then cuts off. Yesterday while driving my coolant warning light came on telling
me to stop and check the coolant. The level seemed fine from what I could tell.
The indicator went off but came on again each time I drove it after about three
miles. I plan on taking it to the dealer but any suggestions would be
appreciated.

I hope that is not costly. I will try to take care of it tomorrow am. Thanks
